Greek riot police fired tear gas at angry protesters on Sunday who threw bottles and chairs at the governing SYRIZA party’s headquarters in Thessaloniki after a rally against the ‘Macedonia’ deal.
Earlier over 5,000 people marched in Greece’s second-largest city toward the FYROM mission and then the offices of the two partners in Greece’s coalition government, SYRIZA and the Independent Greeks.
Nationalists in both countries oppose the deal that would rename Greece’s neighbor ‘North Macedonia’.
